The Mustang is the original muscle car and throughout the years it managed to get above the competition thanks to a bold design, powerful engines and a lot of character. The latest model has just been released as a 2015 model but Ford is planning to roll out an update in 2016 which will add a few new models as well as improve the engines in the current generation which even though are quite good, they lack a few features.
2016 Ford Mustang Price
2016 Ford Mustang price won’t change all that much so expect to pay around $27,000 for a base model and up to $50,000 for a fully equipped GT. The special versions are going to be even more than that, so prices of up to $90,000 aren’t out of the question. From what we know so far, the 2016 Ford Mustang is going to receive three new different models, the GT350, GT500 as well as the King Cobra which is actually a package which can be ordered through the dealers rather than an actual car, but more on that later.
The interior of the 2016 Ford Mustang will remain unchanged but this is quite normal. There will still be the great pair of seats for the driver and its passenger which offer great lateral support and are very good on those long trips. The rear seats on the other hand aren’t as good and might be quite uncomfortable for people taller than 6 ft. Basic features will include automatic climate control, a pretty good audio system, Bluetooth which will allow to pair the phone with the central unit of the car as well as a 7 inch TFT touch screen. Options will include satellite navigation, leather upholstery, sport seats as well as a track package which adds a stopwatch and a GPS tracker.
2016 Ford Mustang exterior will remain mostly unchanged with the exception of the special versions. Both the GT350 and the 500 will get a different body kit which will include more aggressive front and rear bumpers, new hoods with vents as well as rear diffusers. The King Cobra on the other hand will get a special set of wheels dedicated for the track, a rear support bar which will add traction as well as big hump in the hood. The wheels will differ depending on the chosen model and each set will be unique to the model.
Engine wise, the 2016 Ford Mustang will be available with three different engines. The base car comes either with a 3.7 liter Duratec 300 horsepower V6 or with a 2.3 liter 305 horsepower EcoBoost. Both of these are very close of each other as far as the price goes but the EcoBoost offers quite a bit more torque. The GT model on the other hand comes as standard with a 5 liter aspirated V8 with 435 horsepower which is more than enough to offer a lot of driving thrills. All of these are either available with a 6 speed manual or with a 6 speed automatic.
The special 2016 Ford Mustang models will get a 5 liter V8 while the GT500 is likely to get a new 5.2 liter V8. All of them are going to be supercharged with power ranging from 520 horsepower for the GT350 up to 750 to 800 horsepower for the King Cobra. Of the three, the GT350 is the only one which is aimed at the track, offering improved suspension, a limited slip differential as well as a few extra features such as larger brakes and a different tune for the chassis. The King Cobra on the other hand is a drag car which can run a quarter of a mile in less than 11 seconds in its stock form which is one of the best times for a production car.
