2016 Ford Kuga is the new model all this small SUV that’s being sold in Europe and some other markets around the world, but not in the United States. It has a lot of rivals since, small SUV class has grown a lot in last several years. One of its main competitors are: Honda CR-V, Kia Sorento, Nissan Quasqai etc.
This vehicle is made on Ford’s C1 platform. Depending on the trim level buyers choose it can roll on 17,18 or 19 inch alloy wheels, and its wheelbase is 105 inches long. Ford the new model year Ford decided to add new full LED headlights and taillights to this model, another change is the introduction of body color bumpers in both front and back which gives more elegant look to this model. There are also some new exterior features that range from the new back spoiler, to the chrome window bezels and roof rails painted in silver.
Interior comes with three different configurations called: Ambiente, Titanium and Trend. It can accommodate 5 adult passengers and in the cargo area you can place 5 big suitcases. Depending on the trim level it can come with leather or cloth upholstery and the top of the line trim comes with very quality and elegant Torino leather upholstery. Steering wheel also can be leather wrapped and it is a multifunction and telescopic. This model comes with MyFord Touch infotainment system with five inch display and SYNC 2 telematics. It also comes with optional panoramic glass roof.
Performance and Engine
When it comes to performance, 2016 Ford Kuga comes with nice array of different engines and two possible configurations, one with the front wheel drive and the one with all wheel drive. All of its engines are combined with six speed SelectShift automatic transmission or PowerShift for the diesel models. Base version comes with 1,6 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine made in EcoBoost technology. This engine comes with 147 horsepower and 177 pound feet of torque. It is also able to reach 35 mpg of combined fuel economy output. Second engine in the Ford Kuga is the same 1,6 liter four cylinder with boosted output that is able to produce 180 horsepower and the same amount of torque as the base version.
This 2016 Ford Kuga engine comes with much worse fuel economy and it is able to reach only 30 mpg in combined conditions. Diesel engine is much larger and it is 2,0 liter four cylinder made in Durateq technology and it is able to reach 161 horsepower and 251 pound feet of torque. Kuga with this engine is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 in only 10,2 seconds, it comes with maximum speed of 115 mph and its fuel economy is even better than the one from base version and it is able to achieve 37 mpg in combined conditions.

There still hasn’t been any relevant information about 2016 Ford Kuga price. We will need to wait for this model to be premiered, which will probably happen on one of the bigger European car shows in next few months. Release date is also still a mystery.
