2016 Ford Escape



Since 2000, Ford Escape has been a compact crossover, and this model has been recording increased popularity and sales over these years. Due to this, the automaker desires to release a new Ford Escape version for this crossover. Although the new Ford Escape is set to have a similar design to the previous model, it will feature more aggressive sleek lines and look. The new Ford Escape will not only have its front fascia redesigned but will also have new features inside its cabin. To improve its performance, 2016 Ford Escape will go through certain mechanical changes.

The new model of Ford, which is set to use the Global C Platform of Ford, will emulate the modern sports utility vehicle. The front grille of this vehicle will be redesigned hence will be bigger, and the result of this will be lower intake. Ford’s new model is set to feature taillights and LED headlights. Moreover, the fog lights and the Adaptive daytime lights are set to be incorporated in huge front bumpers. To enhance a feel of luxury, the new model will have more chrome details. It will also use lightweight materials such as aluminum to improve its fuel economy. The new Ford Escape is expected to have a better gas mileage than its predecessor due to its sleeker look, lower weight and stream roofline.

Interior

The interior of this vehicle will come with a number of optional and standard features that will incorporate new technology features. As standard, the vehicle will have a room for five passengers while the seats’ third row will be an option. Similar to its predecessors, it will have a number of security features such as front & side Airbag, Traction control, ABS, hill climbing assistant among others. Additionally, the new Ford Escape will feature great standard equipment such as dual zone climate control, sound system with six speakers, satellite navigation, leather upholstery and satellite radio. Also available as standard equipment, is the rear view camera with parking assistant.

Engine

There will be 2016 Ford Escape 2.5-liter Eco-Boost 4-cylinder engine, which produces 168 hp and 170 pound-feet of torque. The most efficient engine of this new model is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, which has a turbocharger and is capable of generating 178 hp and 184 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle’s most powerful engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and is capable of delivering 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. All these engines (rated between 20 mpg city and 33 mpg highway) will be combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel Consumption and Battery

The new 2016 Ford Escape model’s fuel economy is better than its predecessors’ fuel economy; the hybrid car is set to feature a 1.6-liter turbo engine, which will be mated to an electric motor. The vehicle, which is powered by the lithium-ion battery, also has its aerodynamics improved by new materials in the development, hence reduced fuel consumption.

2016 Ford Escape Release Date, Price and Competitors

2016 Ford Escape should be released early this summer (first quarter of 2015), and its price should range from 24,500 dollars to 34,000 dollars. By beginning of 2016, the new Ford Escape should reach the market. Some of Ford Escape’s biggest rivals are Honda CR-V, Nissan Roque, Chevrolet Equinox, Toyota Rav-4 and Mazda CX-5.
