A hybrid variant of the 2016 Ford C-Max, the 2016 Ford C-Max Energi’s main improvement over the original is its apparent fuel efficiency, with a fuel consumption of 40 mpg on highways and 45 mpg on city driving. And according to Ford, the C-Max could be its most fuel-efficient release yet.
Interior and Exterior
Its interior and exterior do not deviate too much from the 2016 Ford C-Max. Both cars share the same exterior features such as the trademark quadrilateral shape of the windshield that is now the common Ford standard, because it really serves to improve frontal vision. The Energi is fitted on top with the revolutionary solar panels as well, from which the vehicle is expected to harness solar energy for power. The taillights had undergone some minor modifications, integrating them better with the car’s general design.
As for 2016 Ford C-Max Energi interior, observers will be quick to notice the considerably large space that the inside of the car has for its passengers. Even if the car is filled to its maximum passenger capacity, it still does not feel crowded and every passenger can expect to be comfortable while seated. The seats themselves already give the impression of comfort, as they are made of fine leather. How the fascia looks doesn’t disappoint as well, for it still maintains the very modern and innovative look that Ford always makes it a point to fit in all of their releases.
With such a passenger capacity, one would expect that the trunk space would be equally vast; however, this is not the case with the 2016 Ford C-Max Energi as its cargo space is evidently still quite compact and small, one downside that a lot Ford users have been requesting the company to remedy.
Engine and Performance
Shifting the focus to its engine, the 2016 C-Max Energi runs on a 141-horsepower 4-cylinder gas engine with a 2-liter capacity. The engine runs alongside a 7.6-kWh lithium-ion powered electric motor. With this setup, the car can run for up to 188 horsepower. The recharging time of the battery is relatively short, needing only around 2 and a half hours for it to be completely recharged. But this is still dependent on the type of power station that you are going to use.
