The newly announced Ford S-Max Vignale concept is Fords latest attempt at entering the ultra-luxurious line of vehicles. Coming right after the unveiling of the Ford Mondeo overhaul with the new Vignale concept, this S-Max make over is the latest in line for the Vignale sub brand.
Exterior of the new S-Max is bound to be more than sufficient for its users. The metal exterior is solid and futuristic looking, quite pleasing to the eye. In the front the most eye catching feature certainly is the new hexagonal grille, finished with some dark pieces. The wheels are 21 inch, custom made and polished off with some alloy.
The luxurious feeling carries over to the inside with some splendidly trimmed interior and elegant aluminum detailing. The seats are upholstered with black leather and hand stitched so that they resemble some expensive home furniture rather than a car seat. It also comes equipped with some brand new high-tech features such as the tablet docking stations for the rear seat passengers and some state of the art Car2Car communication technology. Aside from that the FordSYNC system, that has become something of a staple for all new Ford vehicles, is ever present with this new model. Some of the other features also include the built in WiFi and adaptive LED lighting.
2015 Ford S-Max Vignale Engine and powertrain
There is no word yet on any of the powertrain details, nor the engine that the 2015 Ford S-Max Vignale will have, but we have some predictions. One engine option is the 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost engine that produces up to 240 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque, strong enough to go from zero to 60 in 8 seconds at around 130 mph. Another option is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that is the same one inside the 2014 S-Max, this could possibly be the base engine for the new model. This engine makes 178 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque and can go from 0 to 60 in 9 seconds at a top speed of 120 mph.
2015 Ford S-Max Vignale Price and Release Date
The 2015 Ford S-Max Vignale goes on sale sometime early 2015. The price information has not been specified yet, but do expect some higher numbers as this will be Fords attempt at an ultra luxurious. We can predict them to start somewhere around the same amount the top of the line Titanium X Ford model, so nothing under $50.000.
