Ford has recently previewed a brand new compact sedan, who they are calling Figo or Figo Concept. It was shown at this year Delhi Motor Show, when it became apparent that it is not that dissimilar in appearance from the Ford Ka Concept, which doesn’t come as such a surprise having in mind that it was virtually designed by the same team. It will be constructed at a facility in Sanand, Gujarat, India and will be internationally known as B562.
2015 Ford Figo Exterior
Fords desire has been to make a compact sedan that is shorter than 4 meters but that will still manage to deliver a great performance. Judging by that first showcase the new Figo will arguably be the best looking vehicle under 4 meters of length. The front side of the vehicle slightly resembles the Aston Martin with the brand new hexagonal grille. Also, incorporated into the new design will be the LED headlamps, bumpers taken from the Fiesta and Mondeo models.
2015 Ford Figo Interior
The interior details of the vehicle still remain largely unknown. Ford has been highly secretive about this information, even going to such lengths to use a dummy dashboard at the showcase at the Delhi Motor Show, so we will have to practice our patience a little bit longer, but do expect only the best from this new generation Ford vehicle.
2015 Ford Figo Engine and powertrain
Under the hood the new 2015 Ford Figo sedan will be automated by a 1.5-litre diesel engine, the same one being used by the Fiesta model. This engine can output up to 91 BHP of power. There will also be a 1.0-litre EcoBoost option for all the petrol lovers. The state of the tune for this engine will remain unfamiliar as the turbocharged mill can be tuned in a lot of different ways for a more superior power and efficiency outputs. Both of these engines will be accompanied by a 5-speed manual transmission. The automatic might be offered as an option or in some of the top of the line trims.
2015 Ford Figo Price and Release Date
No official 2015 Ford Figo release date or price information has been released yet. So we can only speculate that the new Ford Figo will be available if not by the end of this year than sometime in the first quarter of 2015. As for the price you can expect it to start at around $8.300 and possibly as high as $12.500 for the EcoSport sedan model.
