Ford will introduce the redesigned version of 2015 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor truck at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The new Ford’s pickup truck will share the spotlight with the redesigned Ford Focus RS, a high-horsepower version of the popular Focus. The new SVT Raptor is based on aluminium-bodied 2015 Ford F-150. The company has called its car the ultimate off-roader, a pickup truck designed for traveling across a desert at high speeds and it climbs steep hills with ease. Even more, due to its high ground clearance, it maneuvers up over big rocks with ease. Some fans stated the SVT Raptor is a Ford’s response to the Hummer, which ended its production line back in 2010.
As for the rear wheel absorbers, there are no longer Fox Racing shock blue absorbers in the current model. These shocks look as if they were upgraded from the standard 2015 F-150 model, so it’s possible that Ford changed suppliers or these are just test examples. Either way, what really matters is what’s under the hood. The Raptor currently uses the top-trim 6.2-liter V8 engine delivering just over 400 HP and a torque of 434 lb-ft. That said, Ford could go a variety of different engines most likely being tuned versions of the 3.5L EcoBoost engine or the 5 L V8. Anyways, the new Raptor should have all of the attributes of the previous model with more strength and less weight. That’s why Ford is basing the model on aluminum-based materials.
The new Raptor stars with a purpose-built frame – the backbone of the vehicle – that’s the strongest in the F-150 lineup, featuring better steel backbone than the previous model. On the other side, while the exterior design of the 2015 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is about projecting an image, the interior is about creating a comfortable place for passengers to enjoy their time off and on-road. Material choice aside, many fans are looking for the Raptor to continue packing a raised suspension, big tires, unique shocks and a general bad-ass vibe. Despite insisting an aluminum-bodied pickup, this car suffers no strength or any durability deficiencies.
