The 2015 Ford Atlas is an upcoming new addition to Ford’s line up of trucks that will be very popular in the U.S. The Atlas definitely looks like it will be one of the best releases in its almost seventy years of history and the full size truck will continue to be strong in the upcoming years as well.
The Atlas has a new design that will make it look much better than its predecessor due to the sharp menacing lines. The high use of military grade aluminum makes it weigh less and gives the Atlas a good edge when it comes to fuel efficiency and performance. The Grille is heavier than the previous model and double deck headlights have been included in the car’s production model as well. The tone set by a new font end fascia makes the Atlas look slightly higher than before.
The 2015 Ford Atlas inside has also been redone nicely but still features a lot of angular lines that are all over the cabin. The dash and the center stack which divides the cabin seem to move in a motion that is singular and both have a cockpit-like layout look once more. The material of the cabin ranges from premium leather to basic cloth depending on the level of trim and top grades also come with wood accents. A touch screen display which is 4.2 inches high is placed across the board and higher grades have the option to upgrade to an 8 inch unit bundles with navigation. Features of safety have also been advanced more with the highest grades models benefiting from blind spot monitors, lane keeping system and an adaptive cruise control. A surround view camera replaces the standard rear-view camera with a 360 degree view with all mandatory options being present as well.
Engine and Drive-train
The 2015 Ford Atlas benefits from new power train options as it is in every segment. Four choices are offered in which two of them are new and the other two are revamped giving a performance that is slightly better. One of the new options is a base 3.5L V6 which is naturally aspirated and puts up about 283 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque. The other new option is a fuel conserving 2.5L Eco-boost V6 that makes about 325 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque. All the engines’ available power is routed to the ground through a six speed automatic transmission. The configurations of the drive-train will be available in both ways like before.
